Project Manager – Construction Inspection

SI Engineering Princeton, NJ (Onsite) Full-Time
SI Engineering, P.C. is a 140-person full-service consulting engineering firm providing services in civil, structural, transportation engineering, bridge & facility inspection, project & program management, construction management & inspection and lighting design. We are engaged in local community improvement projects to large, high-profile, multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects with a strong reputation of delivering a wide range of projects for our clients in the public sector.  

We are headquartered in New York, NY with multiple regional offices in the NY metropolitan area, including our newest office in Princeton, NJ. 

We are expanding our footprint in New Jersey, focusing on public infrastructure clients such as NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, NJ Transit, and the PANYNJ, and as a result are looking to hire a Project Manager to lead and grow our construction inspection and construction management work with these clients. This position will be responsible for the successful construction and overall project delivery for the client and overall client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Overall management of multidisciplinary infrastructure construction projects, particularly highway and bridge projects
  • Managing overall project team, including budget and schedule
  • Serve as primary point of contact to the client on all project matters
  • Overall responsibility for construction management and inspection
  • Responsible for overall project delivery and quality
  • Identifying and recommending candidates for the CI team
  • Identifying, strategizing, and winning new projects
  • Leading pursuits of infrastructure CI projects, serving as technical lead on key pursuits
  • Participate in strategic positioning for major regional project opportunities
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or similar
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey
  • 15 years of experience in complex highway and bridge construction
  • Experience working on projects for NJDOT, NJ Turnpike, and other local clients, particularly as a Project Manager or Resident Engineer
  • A demonstrated ability to cultivate new clients, identify opportunities, and win work
  • Strong relationships within the industry including within agency, consultant, and contractor community
  • Ability to take ownership and be accountable for projects and personnel
  • Excellent communication skills and work ethic
  • A demonstrated ability to independently lead and support business development and proposal activities
  • A demonstrated ability to evaluate the technical requirements of segments of the individual projects, outline the tasks, manpower and equipment requirements, establish fees, scope and project budgets and outline a project schedule
  • A demonstrated ability to administer all project general and technical data and reports to communicate verbally and in writing to all parties involved
